Valarmathi died after suffering a heart attack in Chennai. An official gave this information on Monday. ISRO official said that Valarmati breathed his last in a hospital in Chennai. It is said that ‘Chandrayaan-3’ was his last countdown program.
After the death of Valarmathi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar and many others expressed condolences. Most people remembered his countdown echoing from the Mission Control Center at ISRO’s Sriharikota space center during several launches. Dr P V Venkatakrishnan, former ISRO director, said, “Valarmati Madam’s voice will no longer be heard as we count down ISRO’s future missions from Sriharikota.”
