Airtel launched new Prepaid plan, offering 1.4 GB data daily at Rs 219
In India, Airtel – the leading telecom operator recently launched a new prepaid plan. The plan costs Rs 219 and it competes directly with the plan of Reliance Jio.
As part of this plan, the company is offering 100 SMS per day, unlimited local and STD calling and nearly 40GB data. The validity of the plan is one month. The FUP limit is of 1.4GB daily data is there at 3G/4G speed. In addition to this, as a part of this plan, users also get “Hello Tunes support”.
Users of Airtel who will opt for this new prepaid plan can also set a caller tune of the available song free of cost via Wynk Music, additionally requesting Hello Tune via song codes. In contrast, Rs 149 plan of Reliance Jio is offering 300 SMS per day, unlimited voice calls and 42GB of data. This plan has a validity of 28 days and FUP limit of 2GB per day is there for the users.
Airtel recently launched home broadband plan having speed over the Wi-Fi of up to 300 Mbps. The monthly rental of Fiber-To-the-Home (FTTH) based plan is Rs 2,199 and it offers not only 1,200GB of ultra-high speed data but also unlimited STD and local calling benefits.
Additionally, the subscribers opting for this new prepaid plan will get subscription to OTT apps of Airtel – Airtel TV and Wynk Music. Airtel TV offers 350+ LIVE TV channels and 10,000 shows and movies while Wynk Music offers 3 million plus songs. Fixed line services and home broadband services of Airtel are available in India in 89 cities.
The war developing in the telecom sector of India is taking a toll on their finances. This week, Airtel India operations reported net loss in the fourth quarter of 2017-18, for the first time in almost 15 years, and this was accompanied by Vodafone India and Idea Cellular. It happened because of low tariffs of Reliance Jio and a cut in ITR (international termination rates).
