What did Gadkari say

Nitin Gadkari, while addressing the ‘Intel India Safety Pioneers Conference-2022, said that every year around 1.5 lakh people die in 5 lakh road accidents in the country. We have decided to make it mandatory to provide at least 6 airbags in motor vehicles. We want to save people’s lives. For this we need cooperation from all sides including the auto industry.

Let us tell you that Intel has organized this conference in the national capital Delhi to bring together industry, academia, and leading government organizations in its goal of increasing road safety in India. The aim of this initiative is to strengthen road safety.

Scary road accident statistics

Let us tell you that about 53 road accidents happen every hour across the country. 17 people lose their lives in these accidents. Talking about the states, Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of road accidents. This figure is more than 20 thousand. After this, Maharashtra has the number with more than 12 thousand deaths. In the national capital Delhi, this figure is 1584.
