DMRC: If a consensus is reached on the new route, it will take six months to start the work on Greno West Metro. Earlier, NMRC had appealed to the Central Ministry to approve the DPR of Greno West Metro by connecting it to the FOB through a common platform.
NMRC New Plan: A new route is being considered for Greater Noida West Metro. This option is visible from Sector-61 metro station of Blue Line. Noida Metro Rail Corporation has given approval to explore the option of a new route.
The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry has also asked DMRC to consider a new route. The study for this has started. It has become clear from the study of the new route that if Greater Noida Metro is connected to Sector-61, then the metro route will become two and a half km long and the metro will go in a detour.
DMRC has one month time for report
DMRC has been given one month’s time to submit the report of the new route. If a consensus is reached on the new route, it will take at least six months for the Greno West Metro work to start. Earlier, NMRC had appealed to the Central Ministry to approve the DPR of Greno West Metro by connecting it to the FOB through a common platform. But this was not approved. Due to this, the DPR of Greno West Metro was eclipsed even before its approval.
Metro will pass through residential area
In this regard, NMRC officials say that after this problem, consideration is being given to extending the Aqua Line from Sector-51 to Sector-61 metro station of the Blue Line. If this plan is successful then it can be taken forward and connected to Sector 123.
From the other side, the metro pillar can also come into the residential area. Once this route is finalized, passengers going to Greno will take the same time as before. In fact, if the route mentioned in the DPR had been agreed upon, it would have taken time to go from Sector 51 to 52 via sky walk.
Now under the new route one will have to extend Sector-51 to Sector-61. To go to Delhi one will have to come back to Sector-52. But this will have the advantage that passengers will not need to get down from the platform. Currently, the work of skywalk is going on to connect Sector-51 and Sector-52 metro stations. After the completion of the skywalk, thousands of passengers of NMRC and DMRC will get the facility.
