Now Blue Line Metro will go beyond Noida Electronic City! Plan to connect Sahibabad with rapid rail

DMRC Update: Sahibabad Metro Station-Vasundhara will be built in front of the existing Sahibabad Rapid Rail station. Both the stations will be connected by a foot overbridge on either side of the link road. This will allow passengers to transit between the Blue Line and the Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail Corridor without leaving the premises.

DMRC Update: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has offered a revised route plan to extend the Blue Line from Noida Electronic City and suggested that the last proposed station at Sahibabad be connected with the Rapid Rail there.

According to DMRC report, Sahibabad Metro Station will be built in front of the existing Sahibabad Rapid Rail Station in Vasundhara. Both the stations will be connected by a foot overbridge on either side of the link road. This will allow passengers to transit between the Blue Line and the Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail Corridor without leaving the premises.

DMRC had submitted its first report for extending the Blue Line to Sahibabad in 2018. Over the next few years, the plan was revised several times, primarily to cut project costs. When work on the alignment of the rapid rail began, DMRC was asked to come up with a plan to integrate the stations in Sahibabad.

These will be five stations.

DMRC’s report says that the metro route will have five stations via Indirapuram and Vasundhara. These stations are Vaibhav Khand, DPS Indirapuram and Shakti Khand, which will run along CISF Road. The other two stations are Vasundhara Sector 5 and Sahibabad.
