Although the government promised to implement OPS in the cabinet as soon as it came to power, but it has not been implemented even after 52 days. Not only this, the amount of NPS has been deducted in the salary for the month of January.
Deduction of NPS share of officer employees from January salary
In fact, it has been announced to implement the old pension scheme in Himachal. Although 52 days have passed since the formation of the government, the old pension scheme has not been implemented till now. Not only this, the share of the New Pension Scheme has also been deducted from the salaries of the officers and employees in January. Earlier, the Congress government of Himachal had promised that the old pension scheme would be implemented within 10 days of coming to power and in the first cabinet meeting itself. Not only this, the Congress government is also talking about bringing back the NPS of the employees from the Centre.
Old pension scheme was the main issue
However, till there is no clarity on the old pension scheme, the deduction of NPS will be done on the old pattern only. The old pension scheme was made the main issue in this election to bring the Congress to power. It has already been said by the Chief Secretary that the plan to implement it is ready with the government. The old pension scheme will be implemented under Plan A and B only.
Earlier, the old pension scheme for the employees was announced on the day of Lohri by the cabinet under the leadership of Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. Talking about its implementation on the same day, there was also talk of issuing a notification, but it has been said to implement it by taking out an office memorandum. At present, notification has not been issued on this.
It is not possible to get the benefit of the old pension scheme till April
About which the employee is confused. Not only this, if the discussions are to be believed then it is not possible for the employees to get the benefit of the old pension scheme till April. The old pension scheme was asked to be implemented from January salary but till now it has not been implemented. It is believed that it can be implemented from the new year April 2023.
Chhattisgarh’s formula was made the basis
For the old pension scheme, the old pension scheme plans of other states were considered by the government of Himachal. After which the matter of adopting the old pension scheme in Himachal Pradesh also is coming to the fore on the basis of Chhattisgarh’s formula. However, even after 20 days of the cabinet meeting, it has not been made public yet. There is currently a long time in issuing the detailed notification.
