Which employees will get the benefits
In the notice issued by the government, it has been mentioned that the old pension scheme will be implemented once again in Himachal Pradesh from April 1, 2023. A total of 1.36 lakh employees of the state government will get the benefit of this. In such a situation, they will no longer be a part of the National Pension Scheme.
Notification issued by the Chief Secretary
The notification to implement the old pension was issued by the Chief Secretary of the State Government. It said that after the cabinet’s decision to implement the old pension scheme, the contribution of state government employees covered under NPS will be stopped from April 1, 2023.
Himachal government will not give contribution in NPS
Let us tell you that under NPS, contribution is given from both the employer and the employee. In this, the contribution of the employer is made by the state governments. At the same time, after this change, now the government of Himachal Pradesh will not give contribution in NPS for its employees.
Retired employees will also get benefits
This decision from the government will not only benefit the existing employees, apart from this, the employees who have been discharged from their service are also going to get its benefit. According to the issued notification, the employees who have worked for 20 years or more, will now be given 50 percent of the basic salary and an amount equal to dearness allowance as pension.
OPS was closed in the year 2004
Please tell that the old pension scheme was closed in the year 2004. At the same time, in January 2004, the National Pension Scheme was brought in its place. It is also known as New Pension Scheme. In such a situation, the employees whose jobs have started after January 1, 2004, are covered under NPS.
