The CM has assured to include the employees of Electricity Board Limited under old pension scheme, this will benefit around 6500 employees of Electricity Board.

Employees Old Pension scheme 2023: There is good news for the electricity employees of Himachal Pradesh. Soon the employees will get the benefit of the old pension scheme. State CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has assured to include Electricity Board Limited employees under old pension scheme, this will benefit about 6500 employees of Electricity Board.

According to the release issued by the state government, the state government in the first meeting of the cabinet itself had decided to restore the old pension scheme, which would benefit more than 1.36 lakh government employees. The state government will ensure the benefits of the electricity board employees by including them under this scheme.

Orders will be issued today

After this decision, it is expected that on Friday and Saturday, the board management may issue a written order to restore the OPS. Chunki management has assured to issue orders to restore OPS before May 27. Only after getting the assurance, the board workers suspended their protest. Tell that the state government had promised to restore OPS in its promise in the assembly elections. All departments and board corporations have also restored OPS, but this was not done in the electricity board yet, after which there was anger among the employees and they were protesting, in such a situation, after the announcement of the CM on Thursday, the employees Union general secretary Hiralal Verma has thanked the CM for restoring the old pension.

Employees’ welfare priority of the government- CM

CM Sukhu said that along with restoring the old pension scheme, the state government has taken several steps for the welfare of the government employees. The installment of 3 percent dearness allowance has also been released. Despite the challenging economic conditions of the state, the state government with visionary thinking has not allowed any hindrance in the development of the state. The former BJP government made announcements without any budget provision but their benefits could not reach the employees whereas the present state government is committed to clear all outstanding liabilities along with improving the economic condition of the state.
