State government has given its approval to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.
Old Pension Scheme 2023: There is good news for the government employees of Jharkhand. After Rajasthan, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, now the old pension scheme has been implemented in Jharkhand as well. In the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has given his approval to implement the Old Pension Scheme along with many other important decisions.
In the cabinet meeting, a proposal related to the guidelines related to the process of taking advantage of the old pension scheme was approved. After this decision, the Jharkhand Officers Teachers Employees Federation (JHAROTEF) warmly welcomed the Chief Minister and expressed gratitude. The CM said that the government is fully committed to ensure that the government employees get a chance to work in a better environment with full respect. In this direction, we are continuously moving towards fulfilling their legitimate demands so that they can speed up the development of the state by fulfilling their responsibilities with full energy.
OPS has also been implemented in these states
The state governments of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh have informed the Center about their decision to roll back OPS and have requested for refund of funds accumulated under the National Pension System (NPS). Apart from this, the medical allowance of state employees and pensioners will be cut, along with Rs 500 per month will be given instead of Rs 1000. Apart from this, 6000 will be given to the insurance company for the rest of the year and treatment up to 5 lakh can also be done.
These important decisions were also taken in Jharkhand cabinet meeting
- Approval was given to make provision of Nominee Director in the Board of Directors of Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited.
- Jharkhand Cooperative Auditor (Recruitment, Promotion and Service Conditions) Cadre Rules, 2014 (Effective 24/10/2014) as per Chapter-3 Direct Recruitment Rule – 9 (a) of First Amended Rules 2021, approval was given for amendment in minimum educational qualification.
- Jharkhand Cooperative Extension Officer (Recruitment, Promotion and Service Conditions) Cadre Rules, 2014 (Effective 24/10/2014) i.e. First Revised Rules, 2016 and Second Revised Rules, 2021 were approved for amendment.
- Jharkhand Child Development Service Non-Gazetted Staff Recruitment and Service Condition (Amendment) Rules-2023 was approved.
- Approval was given to allow the facility of maternity leave to the employees appointed and working on contract basis.
- After selecting the old pension scheme, the guidelines related to the process of availing old pension were approved.
- Approval was given for regularization of service of irregularly appointed and employed personnel under the Finance Department, Government of Jharkhand. Approval was given for regularization of service of regularly appointed and working personnel who have completed 10 years of continuous service on the posts of Computer Operator/Data Entry Operator, Staff Car Driver/Driver/Group ‘D’ under Finance Department, Headquarters Establishment, Treasury/Sub-Treasury, Institutional Finance Division, Provident Fund Directorate and National Savings Directorate.
- Relaxing Rule-235 of the Jharkhand Financial Rules in the state, on the basis of nomination under Rule-245, Jhar-CERT project, run by C-DAC, Kolkata, was approved for extension of 03 (three) years and administrative approval was given for a total of Rs.
Approval was given to provide benefits of health insurance scheme to state employees/retired employees. - Approval was given to amend the guidelines and implementation rate of various items under Anganwadi Services operated under the Centrally Sponsored Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0.
