On this decision, the Supreme Court has said that we did not see any constitutional flaw in the rules adopted by OROP. For this reason, it maintains the manner of the central government. The court said that pensioners of equal rank should be given equal pension.

Supreme Court gave this order

The court said that from July 2019, the pension would be re-fixed and revised after 5 years and the arrears would be paid within 3 months. A bench of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Surya Kant gave this verdict.

Earlier, the Supreme Court reserved the decision after a long hearing, after which the verdict was pronounced. The petition was filed by the Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement demanding One Rank One Pension, on which the decision has come today.

Supreme Court first asked questions to the government

Earlier, the Supreme Court had asked the central government to present the blueprint of his expenses in the court whether any directions have been issued in the direction of pursuing his career.

In fact, the Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement had challenged the policy of reviewing pension to retired military personnel once in 5 years in the Supreme Court. At the same time, the Center gave its arguments in favor of OROP before the Supreme Court.
