Recently, Cabinet Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar has proposed to the Siddaramaiah government to increase this pension amount, on which the CM has adopted a positive attitude and said that it will be seriously considered. The special thing is that at present the Finance Department is also with the CM.

Will the old pension scheme be implemented in the state?
- It is noteworthy that like Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal and Punjab, demand is being raised for restoration of the long-standing pension scheme in Karnataka too. In June, a delegation of NPS employees union officials met the CM in Bengaluru and urged him to cancel the New Pension Scheme (NPS).
- It was also said that 2.98 lakh employees come under NPS, the pension amount is deposited in NSDL, this amount can be deposited in GPF which can be made available at the time of retirement. NPS has been canceled in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Given., in Karnataka also it should be canceled and the old pension scheme should be implemented.
- After the cancellation of NPS, a total of Rs 19,000 crore will be available, which can be used for the development programs of the government. CM Siddaramaiah had also indicated that this can be considered in the cabinet meeting and the decision can be announced in the budget.
