The increased pension to freedom fighters will be paid from this month. It was clarified in the release that there are a total of 1201 freedom fighters in the Union Territory of Puducherry, who will get the benefit of this amount. Along with this, the government has also amended the Freedom Fighters Pension Rules 1970 in this regard.
According to PTI news, with the order being issued in November, it will be implemented from the month of November itself, hence the freedom fighters will start getting its benefits from the month of December itself.
