Pensioners DA Hike: About 7.28 lakh employees and pensioners will get the benefit. It is important to note that this increase will put an additional burden of Rs 974.16 crore on the government annually. According to the revised pay scale, 2015, the dearness allowance has also increased for the state employees drawing salary.

DA Hike: Big news is coming from the Telangana government for the state government employees. An announcement has been made by the state government to release Dearness Allowance (DA) for the employees and pensioners. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to increase DA and DR. Till now the employees used to get DA and DR 20.02 percent of the basic pay. But now it has been increased to 22.75 percent. The jump in the DA of the employees will be applicable from January 2022.

7.28 lakh employees will get benefit

This change will benefit about 7.28 lakh employees and pensioners. It is important to note that this increase will put an additional burden of Rs 974.16 crore on the government annually. According to the revised pay scale, 2015, the dearness allowance has also increased for the state employees drawing salary. It has been increased from the existing 55.536 per cent of the basic pay to 59.196 per cent of the basic pay.

The change will be applicable from January 1, 2022

The rate of DA has been changed from existing 31 per cent to 34 per cent on basic pay with effect from January 1, 2022, for all employees drawing UGC/AICTE/SNJPC pay scales, 2016. The State Government has revised the DA for all full time/casual employees as per the Revised Pay Scales, 2010 with effect from January 1, 2022. Their remuneration has been revised from Rs 3,850 to Rs 6,700 per month.

Apart from this, the government has also approved an increase of Rs 100 per month to part-time assistants and village revenue assistants from January 1, 2022. Employees will get increased dearness allowance along with the salary of June 2023 to be received on July 1, 2023. A separate order will be issued regarding the payment of dues from January 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023.
