Petrol-Diesel Price Today: After the reduction of excise duty on petrol-diesel by the central government and VAT by some states, there has been no change in the rate of petrol-diesel of oil companies.
Petrol-Diesel Price Today 24th May: No change was seen in the price of oil for the third consecutive day after the Central Government cut the excise duty on petrol and diesel. The government had announced a big cut on Sunday to give relief to the common man from expensive oil. After which petrol became cheaper by Rs 9.5 per liter and diesel by Rs 8 per liter. On the other hand, there is a slight fluctuation in the rate of crude oil. WTI Crude fell at $ 109.80 per barrel and Brent crude reached the level of $ 112.9 per barrel.
Loss of Rs 2,500 crore
Maharashtra, Kerala and Rajasthan gave additional relief to the common man by reducing VAT (VAT cut on Petrol-Diesel) after the excise duty was cut by the government. Maharashtra government will suffer a loss of Rs 2,500 crore due to VAT deduction.
Rajasthan also reduced VAT
The Rajasthan government has also cut VAT on petrol-diesel. Here VAT on petrol was reduced by Rs 2.48 per liter and on diesel by Rs 1.16 per liter. In Kerala, VAT was cut by Rs 2.41 and on diesel by Rs 1.36 per liter.
relief after 46 days
Before Sunday, oil companies had increased the price of petrol and diesel by Rs 10 from 22 March 2022 to 6 April. But after April 6, there was stability in the price and no change was made. Now once again a big relief has been given to the common man by cutting excise duty and VAT from the Center and the states.
