eKYC campaign from today
The UP government is going to start the campaign of eKYC of farmers under PM Kisan Yojana from today. CM Yogi Adityanath will start this campaign which will run from May 24 to June 10 in the capital Lucknow on Wednesday. Under this, farmers will be provided facilities by organizing camps in 5000 gram panchayats of the state.
Out of 2.63 crore farmers covered by the scheme, eKYC of 1.84 crore has been completed. So far, Aadhaar of 2.19 crore farmers has been linked with their bank accounts. Now only 40 to 50 lakh farmers are left whose eKYC is to be done. Till April this year, Rs 55,882 crore has been paid into the bank accounts of farmers through DBT.
In the farmer’s camp to be organized in 5000 gram panchayats of the state, along with Agriculture Department, employees of Revenue Department, Lekhpal, Panchayat Secretary, representatives of post office, people of banks, common service center operators and village heads will be present. In all the camps, farmers will be given facility to link Aadhaar account with bank account online.
For this, a mobile app has been prepared by the Central Government. Through the app, farmers will be able to do KYC of themselves as well as of any other person. In the camp, the farmer will have to bring Aadhaar card, land records, bank account and PM Kisan card for e-KYC.
