If you want to install 2kW rooftop solar in your house, then according to the calculator available on the website, the total project cost will be Rs 47000. On which a subsidy of Rs 18000 will be given from the government. In this way the customer will have to pay Rs 29000 for installing rooftop solar. According to the rules, there should be 130 square feet space for this. The solar plant, built at a cost of Rs 47,000, will generate 4.32 Kwh/day of electricity every day, which comes to 1576 kWh/year annually. With this, the customer will save Rs 12.96 daily, and Rs 4730 in a year.

Whereas if your rooftop area is 700 square feet, then your investment for a 3 kW panel will be Rs 80,000 and the subsidy you will get in this will be Rs 36,000. That means you will have to spend only Rs 50,000 from your pocket for this.
