List of Public Gazetted Holidays 2025 : The government has released the list of holidays for central employees for 2025. This list includes two types of holidays – gazetted (mandatory) and restricted (optional).

Gazetted holidays refer to the 17 holidays which are considered mandatory in all government offices. These holidays include major national days and religious festivals. The government has also given a list of 34 restricted holidays, which employees can choose as per their choice. Gazetted holidays are mandatorily implemented in every government office, while restricted holidays depend on the wish of the employee. This list is recognized in all government offices, so that employees can know about the holidays in advance and plan their work.

The government has released the list of holidays for central employees. The central government has released the list of public holidays (Gazetted Holidays) and restricted holidays (Restricted Holidays 2025) for the year 2025. According to this list, there are a total of 17 gazetted and 34 restricted holidays. Gazetted holidays are compulsory holidays in the government calendar. Restricted Holidays are an option. Employees can choose them as per their wish. The holiday calendar issued by the government is implemented in all government offices.

Apart from this, every employee gets 12 optional holidays out of which he is allowed to take 3 leaves. This is the list of optional holidays.

Employees can choose these optional holidays according to their personal religious, cultural or family festivals. Thus, this list gives the Central Government employees the opportunity to take leave on their festivals and special occasions.
