How much penalty in which situation?

• If a person is caught traveling by train without a ticket, then according to railway rules, he may have to face jail up to six months or a maximum fine of Rs 1,000. The minimum amount of the fine is Rs 250, plus the cost of the ticket for the distance traveled by the offender.
• Suppose you have taken a sleeper coach ticket and you travel in an AC coach. If caught in this situation, the person will have to pay the difference between the AC coach fare and the sleeper coach fare. Apart from this, additional penalty fee can also be imposed by TTE.

• If you have booked a ticket online, then you must have some ID or identity card with you during the journey. If you do not give your ID to TTE then TTE may consider you as a ticketless ticket and charge you penalty.
• If someone travels in a train under the influence of alcohol or consumes alcohol during the journey, he will be removed from the train, apart from this, a fine of Rs 500 will be imposed on that person and will also be jailed for six months.
• If you are young and caught traveling without a ticket, you may have to pay a minimum fine of Rs 250 or additional charges or both.
• According to Section 141 of the Indian Railways Act, whoever stops a train by pulling the emergency chain without any reasonable cause can face imprisonment of up to one year or a fine of up to Rs 1,000 or both.
• According to railway rules, no one is allowed to smoke in the train and a fine of Rs 200 can be imposed if caught doing so.
• If anyone crosses railway tracks or enters a platform without a ticket or permission, he can face a fine of Rs 1,000 or jail.
