Passengers will get great convenience

Northern Railway has planned the highest number of journeys announced so far i.e. 3144 journeys from 1 October 2024 to 30 November 2024. In this context, General Manager of Northern Railway Ashok Kumar Verma said that about 85 percent of Festival Special Trains will provide services to passengers going to UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Assam in the east direction.

Diwali and Chhath Special Trains

195 journeys of special trains have been planned from 26 October 2024 to 7 November 2024. Diwali (Diwali Special Trains) and Chhath (Chhath Special Trains) are to ensure easy and comfortable travel during festivals. According to NR officials, 59 trains were operated during the same period last year. Apart from this, regular trains will also make 123 special trips to reduce the crowd of passengers and facilitate comfortable travel. 49 additional coaches will also be added to important trains from October 26 to November 7.

Talking about the crowd at New Delhi Railway Station during Diwali and Chhath Puja, Verma has revealed some ‘game changing innovations’.
