Although the government has taken out ₹2000 notes from circulation, they still remain legal tender. This means that legally ₹2000 notes have still not become illegal. These notes can still be exchanged in the regional offices of RBI.

The old rules will be valid-

If you want to exchange ₹ 2000 note at the regional office of RBI in these 19 cities, then the old rules will apply. Meaning, you will still be able to exchange only 10 notes of ₹ 2000 at a time i.e. ₹ 20,000. If you cannot go in person, you can send your notes to the regional office of RBI by Indian Post. Along with this, you will have to send your bank details, so that the amount of notes gets credited to your account.

If you live in these cities then you can personally go to the office and get your notes changed, otherwise you can also travel to these cities.
