Sahara India Money Refund: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in the Lok Sabha that about 3.7 crore investors are associated with Sahara India Corporation. Despite three public appeals for their claims, the funds have been distributed on the basis of verified documents under the supervision of a committee headed by retired Justice BN Agarwal.

Sahara Money Refund: The country’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday gave important information in the Lok Sabha about the refund of investors in Sahara India. Nirmala Sitharaman said in the Lok Sabha that the matter of Sahara refund is in the Supreme Court. Sitharaman further said that apart from Sahara Housing, Sahara India Real Estate Corporation Limited, about 3.7 crore investors are associated with Sahara India Corporation.

Sahara investors’ issue raised in Parliament

Giving more information in this matter, Nirmala Sitharaman said that 1.25 crore claims were received in Pearl Agro Cooperative. Rs 1021 crore has been refunded under the supervision of Justice Lodha. Apart from this, Nirmala Sitharaman, while answering the investors’ question in Parliament, said that a claim of Rs 138.07 crore was made, the amount of this claim has been released. Apart from this, she told that about 18 properties of Sahara India have been confiscated.

Such investors will get refund

A member questioned Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman that SEBI does not have any such property which cannot be auctioned, after which investors can be refunded. On this, the Finance Minister replied that SEBI can auction Sahara’s property and after this the investor can get his money back.

He further told that the Ministry of Cooperation has created a portal, in this portal it is said that (go to the Ministry of Cooperation portal, and register your name. That committee of three people including a retired judge will look into the claims and the money will be distributed.
