Ever since taking control of Air India from the government in January last year, the Tata group has been trying to restructure it. In this sequence, Vistara is being merged with Air India.
Tata Group-owned Air India has decided to put on hold any wage revision for ground staff till the merger with Vistara is cleared by the Competition Commission of India (CCI). Air India CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson has informed about this in an internal mail to the employees.
Salary will increase after merger: According to the news of Business Standard, Air India CEO Campbell Wilson said – After the expansion merger, the salary of Air India’s ground staff will increase. Explain that after the merger with Air India, the existence of Vistara brand will end. Post merger, Singapore Airlines will hold 25.1 per cent stake in Air India.
