Bars are the most expensive in construction
Whether you are building a house or are going to do any other construction, Iron Rod is the most important thing for strength. Bars are used extensively in making roofs, beams and columns etc. of houses.
Even the foundation i.e. the base also gets its strength from the bars. The price of this bar was touching the sky just two months ago i.e. in March 2022. In March, in some places, the price of bars had reached 85 thousand rupees a ton. Right now it has come down to 45 thousand rupees a ton in many places.
Government increased export duty on steel
The government has recently increased the export duty on steel. Due to this, the prices of steel products have fallen sharply in the domestic market. This is also the main reason for the decrease in the prices of bars. At one time in March this year, the retail price of bars had reached Rs 85 thousand per tonne, which has now come down to Rs 45-50 thousand per tonne.
Not only local but also the price of branded bars has come down drastically in the last few months. Right now the price of branded bars has also come down to Rs 80-85 thousand per tonne. In March 2022, the rate of branded bars had reached near Rs 01 lakh per tonne. In this chart, see how the average price of barge has come down…

These factors are driving 57,000 prices down
The government has also reduced the tax on diesel and petrol to reduce the skyrocketing inflation. After this, to control the prices of steel in the domestic market, the tax on its export has been increased. Apart from these, some factors are also favorable.
As soon as the rainy season starts, the construction work starts decreasing, due to which the demand for building materials itself starts decreasing. The bad conditions of the real estate sector are also cooperating at this time. Due to these reasons, the demand for things like bricks, cement, bars, ie rods, sand is at a lower level.
