In fact, coins worth Rs 11 crore disappeared from the vault of SBI branch located in Mehandipur Balaji, Rajasthan. CBI is engaged in the investigation of this case. In this matter, the officials gave information on Monday.

Coins worth 11 crores disappeared from SBI

Significantly, the State Bank of India (SBI) had approached the Rajasthan High Court for a CBI inquiry into the matter. The Rajasthan High Court has handed over this investigation to the CBI.

Now the CBI has taken the matter into its own hands and has started investigation. It is being told that the missing amount was more than Rs 11 crore. Let us know what is the whole matter?

How did the matter unfold?

The case of theft of coins from SBI branch came to light when SBI started counting these coins after preliminary investigation. During this, manipulation of the cash reserve in the bank started appearing. According to the branch account books, a private seller in Jaipur was given the responsibility for counting coins worth over Rs 13 crore.

FIR registered

During this counting it was found that coins worth more than Rs 11 crore were missing from the branch. In this investigation so far, only the bags filled with 3000 coins i.e. 2 crore coins have been accounted for. It has been deposited in the coin holding branch of RBI. That is, coins worth Rs 11 crore are missing from SBI’s branch.

After this SBI lodged an FIR. It has been told in this FIR that on August 10, 2021, the employees who were auditing the coins in the guesthouse were threatened and asked to stay away from counting the coins. However, this matter is now in the hands of the CBI and the decision will come out after investigation.
