West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee has announced this on Sunday. He said that for the past few days, children have been complaining of headache and other health problems after returning from school. After which this decision has been taken. The Chief Minister said that soon an official notification will be issued in this regard. She said that I would also request people to avoid going out in the sun from 12 noon to 4 pm.

The Chief Minister told a local channel that it has been decided to keep all educational institutions including schools, colleges and universities closed from Monday to Saturday next week in view of the severe heat wave conditions. He said that I also urge private school colleges to do the same during this period. Earlier, the West Bengal government had issued an official notice to declare summer vacation in government and aided schools three weeks in advance from May 2, except in hilly areas, in view of the scorching heat.

It’s just going to get hotter

Day temperature is being recorded above 40 degree Celsius at most places in West Bengal. It is estimated to increase further. The Meteorological Department has predicted that heatwave conditions will continue till April 19. In such a situation, everyone should try to avoid heat stroke.
