Also, India’s export of smartphones has increased by 60 percent in the last 7 months. On the other hand, a growth of 177 percent has been seen in the export of iPhone. At the same time, Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishna tweeted that during the same period in the last financial year, a total of smartphones worth $4.97 billion were exported.

Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said in his tweet that on an average, mobile phones worth one billion dollars are being exported every month. According to industry and government data, the company has exported iPhones worth $1.8 billion through its three vendors in India. 5 billion dollars were exported from India in the financial year 2022-23. A growth of 61 percent has been recorded in the export of smartphones from India on an annual basis.

Apple has increased its manufacturing in India for the third year under the PLI scheme by the government. Due to this, the market share of iPhone has increased significantly. In the first seven months of this financial year, the share of iPhone in total smartphone exports has been about 62 percent. After this comes the rest of the smartphones. Last year, smartphones worth a total of $5.8 billion were exported. iPhone accounted for 22 percent of this.

Let us tell you that Taiwanese companies Foxconn, Pegatron and Visteon manufacture iPhones on contract in India. Visteon has recently been purchased by Tata Electronics. iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 are manufactured in India. In the financial year 2023, the company had made 7 percent of iPhones in India.
