It has been clarified in the order that if any employee fails to follow the instructions, then strict action will be taken against him. Apart from this, if an employee fails to meet the working hours, then his monthly salary can be deducted.

The state government has fixed the rules for the employees. Under this, employees will now have to follow the formal dress code on all working days. Employees will have to be present in the office in the prescribed dress only. Along with this, casual clothing like t-shirts, jeans and lingerie of employees have been banned from the assembly.

The employees of the Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat have been prescribed clothes like Salwar Suit Saree, Mekhela Chador and Formal Shirt and Trousers on all working days. Casual attire like lehengas, jeans, t-shirts etc. will not be allowed to the employees while on duty.

In an order issued on 7 November, the Principal Secretary of the Legislative Assembly has said that the traditional dress of any community can be worn by the employee every Wednesday as per his wish. It has also been said in the issued order that it will be mandatory for all the rank employees to wear the office uniform prescribed and provided by the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat.

It has been clarified in the order that if any employee fails to follow the instructions, then strict action will be taken against him. Apart from this, if an employee fails to meet the working hours, then his monthly salary can be deducted. Under the order, the employees will have to mandatorily register their attendance in the biometric attendance system by reaching the office at 9:30 am. Instructions have also been issued to log out only after office hours.

Earlier in 2017, proposals for a secure dress code were put forward by the state government. Employees were asked to attend the office in traditional dress on the first and third Saturdays of every month. However, after following the order for a few days, the system was again settled. Now once again important orders have been issued by the Assam Legislative Assembly for the employees.
