Kia Carens has garnered 50000 bookings in less than 2 months since 14th January. Kia launched its fourth car Carens in the Indian market on February 15 this year.
The South Korean car company said about the booking of this car that 42 percent of its bookings have been done from Tier 3 cities. The Luxury and Luxury Plus variants of this car remain the preferred choice for our customers. In this their booking contribution is 43 percent.
The demand for petrol and diesel variants of Carens has been on par, with petrol around 50 per cent customers booking the diesel variants of Carens.
Moreover, the automatic variant of the car attracted around 30 per cent customers. Last month, the company sold 5300 units of the Carens in just 13 days of launch amid semiconductor shortages.
The starting price of Kia Carens has been kept at 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of its top variant is 16.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). It comes with five trims Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury and Luxury Plus with multiple powertrain and seating options.

Engine, Mileage, Transmission
Two petrol and one diesel engine option is available in Kia Carence. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 115hp and 144Nm of torque, while the other 1.4 turbo petrol engine will be offered only with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine generates 140hp power and 242Nm torque. It also got a 1.5-litre diesel engine option.
The Kia Carense comes with multiple transmission options including 7DCT and 6AT. Kia claims that the petrol engine of the Karens gives a mileage of up to 16.5 kmpl, while the diesel motor will give a mileage of around 21.3 kmpl.
