Tata Motors is preparing to introduce two new SUVs in the next two weeks to further strengthen its hold in the Indian SUV market. These include ICE Curvv and Nexon CNG. The launch of these two vehicles will give a new direction to the SUV portfolio of Tata Motors. Let us know the features and specifications of these two upcoming cars.
Tata Curvv ICE
Design and Look:
Exterior: Tata Curvv EV has already been launched and its ICE version will be introduced on September 2. The design of the Curvv ICE reflects Tata’s latest design philosophy. It has split headlights, large bumpers and LED DRLs, which are in harmony with the Nexon facelift. The side profile includes flush door handles and newly shaped alloy wheels. With a sloping C-pillar and integrated rear spoiler reflecting the coupe SUV style, the design of this SUV is quite attractive.
Rear: There is a full-width LED light bar at the rear and a large rear bumper.
Features and Engine:
Interior: Not much information is available about the interiors yet, but it is expected to combine design elements from the Nexon and Harrier. The SUV will feature ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, powered driver seat and dual digital screen setup.
Engine Options
- 1.2-litre GDI turbo petrol engine: Will generate 123 bhp of power and 225 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed DCT.
- 5-litre engine: Will produce 115 bhp of power and 260 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Tata Nexon CNG
Design and Specifications:
- Launch Date: Tata Nexon CNG will also be launched on September 2. It will be India’s first CNG car, which will be available with a turbocharged petrol engine.
- CNG System: Like other Tata CNG vehicles, the Nexon CNG will use a twin-cylinder setup to maintain the tank capacity, which will not affect the boot space.
Engine and Performance:
Engine: The Nexon i-CNG will have the same 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 118 bhp of power and 175 Nm of torque on petrol. The power and torque figures may be slightly lower in CNG mode, but the official figures are yet to be revealed.
Features: There will be no change in the design and other features, making the Nexon CNG one of the most feature-loaded CNG cars in the market.
The launch of these two new SUVs is likely to strengthen Tata Motors further in the Indian market. Both the cars will be offered with new technology and features in their respective segments, which will provide a new experience for the customers.
