Jammu (IANS) Considering the increasing cases of Corona virus, no clear decision is yet to be taken on the Amarnath Yatra. Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) is in a state of complete confusion. In this regard, Girish Chandra Murmu, Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and President of Amarnath Shrine Board, called a 38th board meeting on Wednesday. During this, the board expressed its apprehension and said that the annual Amarnath Yatra is not possible to be organized this year. Given the severity of the Kovid-2019 pandemic, an appropriate decision on this matter may be taken after a review of the situation in the future. On Wednesday, there were reports of canceling the first Amarnath Yatra. However, a short time later, the Jammu and Kashmir Directorate of Information had withdrawn the pressnote containing the decision to cancel the Amarnath Yatra 2020.
Every year a large number of devotees attend the Shri Amarnath Yatra. On behalf of this Amarnathji Shrine Board and administration, arrangements for drinking water, toilets, travel routes, weather conditions, registration counters, medical checkup counters etc. are made for the pilgrims. Amarnath Cave, situated at the height of It symbolizes the mythological powers of Lord Shiva. This journey lasts for about 45 days.
