    • To get their plate replaced, vehicle owners will have to book their installation appointment online through a portal managed by government-appointed agencies. Walk-ins are not allowed. Installation appointments can be rescheduled within 90 days after the first date of appointment. According to the government, the use of HSRP will help improve the security of vehicles, especially when it comes to tracking stolen vehicles.
    • Vehicle owners can get new HSRP from their respective RTO offices at official rates, which have been fixed at Rs 745 for passenger vehicles, Rs 500 for three-wheelers, Rs 450 for two-wheelers and tractors. The state department has appointed three agencies to provide HSRP based on the RTO location. The agency will verify the vehicle details on the official VAHAN portal before installing these plates.

What is HSRP, why is it necessary?

    • Rosmerta Technologies spokesperson Mahesh Malhotra shared a lot of detailed information about how important the High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) is for any vehicle. He said that according to Central Motor Vehicle Rule 50, there is a rule regarding the thickness, size and font of the registration plate of any vehicle. People are getting HSR plates installed in their vehicles. At the same time, many people get another registration plate installed in their place.
    • According to the rule, the thickness of the registration plate should be 1mm. At the same time, its size should be 280×45, 200×100, 340×200 and 500×120 according to the vehicle. HSR plates of these sizes are used on two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers. The size of the front and rear plate of the vehicle can be different. The color of the plate also changes according to the personal and commercial vehicle.
    • The colors and fonts used on the High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) are reflective colors. These colors are applied on a special type of aluminum plate. The special thing about these colors is that they shine when light falls on them. Also, they are easily captured in CCTV cameras. These colors are white, yellow and green. The numbers of these plates are pressed, which emerge forever.
    • A special type of layer is applied on these numbers. On which INDIA is written. If a unit laser number is also written on a registration plate, then it is universal. That is, this number is used only once on a plate. It can be understood in this way that the unit laser number on the front and rear registration plate of the same vehicle is different. These plates also have a hot-stamped chromium-based 20mm X 20mm hologram of Ashok Chakra in blue colour.
