With the help of the new scheme, the drivers will not have to stand at the toll booth even for half a minute. While giving this information on Wednesday, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways VK Singh said that the barrier-less toll collection system is currently under trial and he said that as soon as our trial is successful, we will implement it soon.
VK Singh said that on the basis of the distance covered on the roads in the country, the system of toll payment will also be implemented. He said that once the new system of toll collection is implemented, its efficiency will increase and travel time will also decrease. With the use of FASTag in vehicles, the time taken at the toll booth has come down to 47 seconds. But the government wants to cut it further and bring it down to less than 30 seconds.
