Singh said in the press conference that on the basis of the distance traveled on the roads in the country, the system of toll payment will also be implemented. He said that if the new system of toll collection is implemented, its efficiency will increase and travel time will also decrease. He said that with the use of FASTag in vehicles, the time taken at the toll booth has come down to 47 seconds, but the government wants to reduce it further and bring it down to less than 30 seconds.

Camera based technology is being used

For this, pilot (experimental) testing is going on on Delhi-Meerut Expressway in which satellite and camera based technology is being used. Singh has said that when you enter a highway and the camera installed there scans the registration number of your vehicle, then on the basis of that it can be ascertained that how many kilometers you have traveled to reach the toll booth. Have done.

Payment will be based on the rules of toll

He has said that this is different from the current system in which it has nothing to do with how many kilometers you have traveled on the highway. This payment is based on the rules of toll.

The Union Minister said that such progress is being achieved only because of the work done by the present government in all sectors including telecommunications. He said that the improvement in the telecommunication network is helping in collecting data of vehicles at toll plazas.
