The move is expected to benefit a large number of people including commuters, delivery staff and taxi drivers. If you have been fined during the above mentioned period, you are advised not to pay the challan as it will be removed from the e-challan portal soon.

Have you already paid the fine?

If you have already paid the fine of traffic challan issued during this period, nothing can be done now. More than 7 lakh motorists have already paid their e-challan and there is nothing more that can be done about it.

If you have not paid the challan yet then you do not need it now. And if you have already paid, then consider that you have missed out on this discount.

This is not the first time…

This is not the first time that pending challans have been removed from the portal. Earlier, the government had canceled around 30,000 challans issued between December 2016 and December 2021. After the recent cancellation of challans on a large scale, the e-challan data will be cleared from the portal and will also be a big relief for the traffic police officers who had the responsibility.
