Indian Railways Cancel Train: 14 mail and express trains to and from Maharashtra are going to be canceled on Rakshabandhan. See the complete list here.
Train Cancellation: If you are going to go somewhere by train on Rakshabandhan, then pay attention. Many trains coming and going towards Maharashtra are being canceled till 30 and 31 August. Central Railway informed that Bhusaval division will operate power and traffic block for DN Long Hall Loop at Murtijapur station yard from 6 pm on August 30 to 2 pm on August 31. Due to which 14 mail and express trains are being cancelled.
What is long distance freight trains
Central Railway told that two goods trains are being run together by joining together. It saves the running time and operational path of the second freight train as it is linked with the first freight train. About 100 wagons of 2 goods trains run together. Thus it is possible to run 2 goods trains at the same time as 1 goods train and on the same route. Due to which the time and way of other train is saved.
Why are trains cancelled
In Bhusaval and Nagpur division, such long distance freight trains (combination of 2 freight trains) are run regularly between Bhusaval to Nagpur section. Hence it has been planned to have such a long loop line at Murtizapur station to accommodate about 100 goods wagons so that between the running of such long distance goods trains, mail express trains are given priority over long distance goods trains . This will help in successful operation of long distance goods trains as well as save punctuality of Mail Express trains. For this, the construction section of Long Hall Loop has been planned at Murtizapur station. Due to which many trains will be canceled from 29th August to 31st August.
