Aadhaar Update Deadline: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has removed the charges for millions of Indians to correct incorrect details in Aadhaar and upload the latest documents, which will now be implemented again in a few days. That is, before the end of the free service, you should correct the details of your Aadhaar.
New Delhi: To help millions of Indians, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made the online update service of documents in Aadhaar free for a few months. That is, Aadhaar users will not have to pay any fee for updating any document or information online. The deadline for updating free Aadhaar is going to end soon. In such a situation, if any information is wrongly recorded in your Aadhaar and you want to rectify it, then this work can be done online from home.
The Unique Identification Authority of India i.e. UIDAI is asking Aadhaar users to re-verify their information from March 2023. To encourage people, the authority has waived the online correction fee for a few months. UIDAI has asked users to update proof of identity and proof of address. It is necessary to update the details especially for those customers whose Aadhaar has never been updated since it was issued ten years back.
Free details or document update deadline
According to the Unique Identification Authority of India, the free service of updating online documents continues from March 15, 2023, which has been extended in the last month of June 2023 till September 14, 2023. That is, any Aadhaar user can update or improve his details for free till 14 September.
50 rupees will have to be paid at the base center
Aadhaar users must note that the facility to update free documents or details is being provided only on the myAadhaar portal https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. Whereas, a fee of Rs 50 will continue to be applicable at physical Aadhaar centers as before.
How to change name, date of birth and address in Aadhaar online
- First login to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ using your Aadhaar number and enter the One Time Password (OTP) sent to the registered mobile number.
- Click on ‘Document Update’ and the details of the Aadhaar user will appear here.
- Now verify the details, if correct, click on the next hyper-link.
- After this, select Proof of Identity and Proof of Address documents from the dropdown list.
- To update a document, upload a copy of it.
- The list of updated and valid documents is available on the official website of UIDAI.
