Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Minister of State for Information Technology Sanjay Dhotre have informed the CSC about getting permission from UIDAI through social media posts.

Prasad has said that he wants the rural level entrepreneurs (VLEs) associated with CSC to do the work of Aadhaar according to the responsibility and the guidelines from UIDAI.

Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “I am convinced that with this facility large population living in rural areas will be able to get Aadhaar services close to their home.”

To make Aadhaar updating easier for citizens, @UIDAI has permitted @CSCegov_ which are designated banking correspondents of banks, to offer #Aadhaar update services. Around 20,000 such CSCs will now be able to offer this service to citizens.

Tyagi gave information in this context that CSCs will change or improve the address of the Aadhaar card holders while updating the biometric details of the children.

UIDAI has already authorized the district level CSC e-Governance Service offices for modification in Aadhaar.

Earlier, all service centers authorized by CSC India e-Governance Services Limited were allowed to provide Aadhaar-linked services but the facility was discontinued in December 2018 following an order from the Supreme Court.
