Actually, a notification was recently issued by the National Payment Corporation of India that it is necessary for UPI users to be active. If there has been no transaction of any kind in the last 1 year then their UPI ID will be deactivated.

UPI ID users should do this before December 31

If you do not want your UPI account to be deactivated, then for this you will have to activate your account before December 31. After activating your UPI ID, NPCI will not close your ID.

How to activate Inactive UPI ID?

To activate an inactive UPI ID, you will have to transact with someone. Apart from this, if you want, you can make any other payment like bill payment, phone recharge, rent pay etc. through your UPI ID. You will have to do this work before 31 December 2023. If you do not do so, your UPI ID will be deactivated as per NPCI rules.

Why was the new guideline of UPI ID released?

To prevent any kind of wrong transaction, NPCI has issued new guidelines for UPI ID. In such a situation, the transaction process will not reach the wrong user and it will not be misused in any way.

How is it misused?

Actually, when people change their phone number, they do not close the UPI ID running from their old number or rather they forget to close the ID, due to which the closed number remains in someone else’s name for months. Is given.

However, the UPI ID appears first in the name of the phone user, which may lead to erroneous transactions. Therefore, whenever you are closing your number, you must also close the UPI ID running from that number.
