Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the safety and security of passengers is the priority of the railways. In this episode, Kavach 4.O has been approved in place of Kavach 3.2 to prevent train accidents. Now Kavach 4.O will be installed on railway trains, stations and tracks.
This change will be made on Vande Bharat
The Railway Minister said that the 52 Vande Bharat Expresses currently running are equipped with Kavach, but Kavach 3.2 is installed in them, but after 4.0 is approved, Vande Bharat Express will be updated. In this way, the wheels of all the trains will be upgraded. However, he said that it will not take much time. Soon the work will start in this direction.
So far, Kavach has been installed on about 1500 km of track
So far, Kavach has been installed on 1,465 km of track. Also, Kavach has been installed on 121 engines. Agra division has prepared Kavach network on 80 km long section between Mathura (excluding station) and Palwal to test some engines and trains.
Specialty of Kavach 4.O
Kavach 4.O technology is completely safe. Its trial has been done from hilly areas to sea coast and from snowy areas to dense forests. After its trial was successful in all areas, RDSO has given approval. After this, the Railway Ministry has decided to install it on two more routes.
All engines will be fitted with CO2 4.O in 4 years
Indian Railways has around 20 thousand engines. According to the Railways, CO2 4.O will be fitted on around 5 thousand engines every year. In this way, all engines will be equipped with CO2 4.O in the next four years. Along with this, CO2 4.O will also be fitted on tracks and station points. After CO2 is fitted at all three places, the possibility of collision between trains will be eliminated.
