Vande Bharat Train: Indian Railways is currently running Vande Bharat train across the country. Now another big decision has been taken regarding Vande Bharat train. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had informed about the Vande Bharat sleeper train some time ago. Now passengers will soon be able to travel lying down in the Vande Bharat sleeper train. Commercial production of Vande Bharat sleeper coach-equipped trains will begin from June 2025 at the Uttarpara plant of Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL).
80 sets will be made
Giving this information on Tuesday, a senior TRSL official said that the railways has entrusted the work of making 80 sets of Vande Bharat sleeper trains to the alliance established with public sector undertaking BHEL.
Sleeper train will be different from Vande Bharat
This sleeper train of Vande Bharat will be different from the Vande Bharat train currently in operation. In this, instead of sitting seats, seats suitable for sleeping passengers will be installed. He said that the alliance will manufacture 50-55 percent of the spare parts of this train in Bengal itself. TRSL has 52 percent stake in this alliance.
Company’s vice chairman gave information
The company’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Umesh Chowdhary said that the total value of this contract received by the alliance from the Railways is Rs 24,000 crore, in which TRSL’s share is about Rs 12,716 crore. He said that this contract will be completed within six years.
Will be ready in 2 years
Chaudhary has said that the commercial production of Vande Bharat sleeper train will start from June, 2025 and for this necessary infrastructure work has been started at Uttarpara plant. For this, a separate arrangement of Rs 650 crore has been made. He said that the first prototype of Vande Bharat sleeper train will be ready within two years. The first eight trains will be completely built at the Uttarpara plant while the remaining trains will be assembled at the railway’s Chennai plant.
The train will run at a speed of 160 km
The Vande Bharat sleeper train will be made in such a way that it can run at a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour. 16 coaches will be installed in it, in which a total of 887 passengers will be able to travel together. Chaudhary said that the supply of 120 Vande Bharat sleeper trains is going to be done by another tie-up which includes Rail Vikas Nigam Limited and Russian company TMH.
Vande Bharat sleeper train can be run on on this route
According to the information, soon the country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train can be run on Mumbai to Delhi route.
