Vishwakarma Yojana: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaram said that the government will give subsidy of up to 8 percent on loans given to artisans under the Vishwakarma Yojana launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.

At the same time, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that under Vishwakarma Scheme, subsidy of up to 8 percent will be given on loans given to artisans.
The Finance Minister said during the launch program of the scheme that the government has already made a provision of Rs 13,000 crore in the budget for 2023-24. Explaining in detail about the Vishwakarma scheme, the Finance Minister said that artisans will be provided collateral-free loans at a very affordable interest rate of 5 percent.
Initially a loan of Rs 1 lakh.
Sitharaman said that this scheme covers 18 sectors related to carpenters, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, masons, stone sculptors, barbers and sailors. Under this, the government will give loan up to Rs 3 lakh. He said that initially a loan of Rs 1 lakh will be given and after repayment for 18 months, the beneficiary will be eligible for an additional Rs 2 lakh.
The components of the skill training scheme for 5 days along with a daily stipend of ₹500 to the beneficiary include
not only financial assistance but also advanced skill training, knowledge of modern digital technology and green technology, brand promotion, interaction with local and global markets, digital payment. And social security will also be included. He said that each beneficiary will be given skill training for 5 days along with a daily stipend of Rs 500. Each beneficiary will be identified in a three-layer manner.
Grant of Rs 15,000 as toolkit incentive
The Finance Minister said that apart from this, a grant of Rs 15,000 will be given as toolkit incentive. For digital transactions, an incentive of Re 1 per transaction will be provided for up to 100 transactions in a month. This will greatly benefit SC, ST, OBC, women and weaker sections.
