According to a report by 91Mobiles, the patent was filed in May 2021 and was published on December 2, 2021. Patent images shared by the publication suggest that the smartphone that Vivo is working on may feature an expandable display.

No timeline has been revealed for the launch of the smartphone. This is because its patent was just published and there has been no official talk about the device by the company. But since there is competition, smartphone companies want to fast-track the process by becoming the first to launch smartphones with expandable displays.
