Yellow alert for Himachal Pradesh
The local meteorological center in Himachal Pradesh on Friday issued a ‘yellow alert’ for heavy rain, storm and lightning at different places in 10 districts of the state on August 21 and 22. The Meteorological Department said that during the next 48 hours, light to moderate rain is likely to continue at some places in the lower and middle hills.
Forecast of rain till August 24
Rain activities are expected to pick up in the state from August 21 and it will rain in many parts till August 24. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places in the non-tribal districts of the state from August 21 to 23, while lightning may occur at some places with thunderstorms. This may result in disruption of traffic and other essential services.

Chances of rain in these states as well
On the other hand, Skymet Weather, a private weather monitoring agency, said that in the next 24 hours, there may be light to moderate rains with heavy rains at some places in Odisha, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada and North Telangana. On the other hand, light to moderate rains are expected in Northeast India, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Sikkim.
According to Skymet Weather, light rain is possible at one or two places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Madhya Maharashtra, South Gujarat and Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, North Punjab, Haryana and East Rajasthan in the next 24 hours.
