This feature has been rolled out for both Android and iOS users. This feature is useful for users who do not want to open voice messages. Through this feature, users can read the transcript of incoming voice messages. This transcript will be visible only to the users who receive the voice messages. The company stressed that voice messages are still protected by WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption.
The feature is available in 5 languages ​​for Android users
This feature is available in many languages ​​for iOS users, such as English, French, German, Italian, Japanese etc. For Android users, it is currently limited to only English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian and Hindi.
How to enable voice message transcript feature
- First of all download the latest update of WhatsApp.
- After this, open the app and go to Settings.
- Here tap on the Chats option and tap on the toggle with Voice Message Transcripts.
- After this, choose the language of your choice.
- Now tap and hold on any voice message, transcription will start.
