WhatsApp has introduced a new ‘Secret Code’ feature for the privacy of users. With its help, users will be able to secure their private chats. This feature will work only on the existing chat lock tool of the messaging app, with the help of which users will be able to protect a particular chat with a password.
How will this feature work?
With the help of Secret Code, users can protect WhatsApp chat with password. This will be different from the lock code of the phone. This will provide additional security to WhatsApp users when they give their phone to someone else. Additionally, the Chat Lock folder will remain separate from the main chat list and will remain completely hidden. To view these chats, users will have to write the secret code in the search bar.
While revealing this feature, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of WhatsApp’s parent company Meta, said, Secret Code feature is being rolled out for Chat Lock on WhatsApp so that you can protect your chat with a unique password. You will be able to view locked chats only when you type a secret code in the search bar. By activating this feature, no one will be able to see your chat.
Chat will be locked immediately
This new feature of WhatsApp can lock the chat instantly. When users long press on a chat, they will get the option to lock the chat. For this they will not need to search for the option in the settings menu.
