WhatsApp: WhatsApp can also start the facility of making international payments through UPI in its app. However, the company has not yet given any official information about this.
WhatsApp Payment: In a latest report, it is being said that Meta-owned messaging service provider WhatsApp is working on a new feature, which will provide users the facility to make international payments through UPI. This means that users will be able to make international payments through Unified Payment Interface i.e. UPI through WhatsApp only. This upcoming feature of WhatsApp has been revealed by a tipster AssembleDebug on X (old name Twitter).
Will international payments be done through WhatsApp?
WhatsApp’s International Payments service will allow users with Indian bank accounts to transfer money and conduct transactions at select international merchants. However, this facility will work only in those countries where banks have accepted international UPI and its services have been started.
Looking at the screenshot shared by the tipster, it seems that the international payments feature will require manual activation. Users may have to set a period of time for which they need to activate the International Payment Service.
Google Pay and Phone Pay will get competition
Let us tell you that many other companies providing UPI payment services in India, including Google Pay and PhonePe, already provide this facility to their users. However, we want to clarify that we have not received information about any such feature from WhatsApp or any official website providing information about WhatsApp.
This information has been given only by a tipster. Therefore, if this news is confirmed then in the coming time WhatsApp will definitely give some official information about this new feature.
International Payments on WhatsApp through UPI for Indian users.
This is currently not available for users. But WhatsApp might be working on it as I couldn’t find anything on Google about it.

Apps like Phonepe, GPay and some others already support this. #Whatsapp pic.twitter.com/OE2COo89eZ
