A resident of Panchkula received a financial blow of Rs 14 lakh due to recent online work-form-home scam. A person named Pradeep Kumar revealed that he contacted him through WhatsApp and gave an opportunity to work extra income by working on the page, clicking on the link and watching videos. Impressed by this work, Pradeep agreed and directed him to deposit Rs 90,000 for subscription and document charge.
Although Pradeep completed the assigned works, the criminal allegedly committed an additional Rs 13 lakhs to him, citing various charges like tax, GST and other charges. After this, there was no message from Pradeep’s other party and eventually realized that he had become a victim of a scam. In such a situation, it would not be wrong to say that the scams of working from home are increasing and you need to be vigilant and protect yourself from this new kind of fraud.
