Communications and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has released a new update on 5G. The Union Minister has asked telecom service providers to start preparations for the 5G launch. He told in a post on his Twitter handle that the spectrum assignment letter has been issued.

Airtel’s 5G service will start this month
Bharti Airtel has already indicated to start 5G service soon. For this, Airtel has also paid EMD Rs 8,312.4 crore. This money has been given by Airtel as an advance payment of four years’ installment. At the same time, Reliance Jio (RJio) has paid Rs 7864 crore, Vodafone Idea 1679 crore and Adani Data Networks (AdaniData) has paid Rs 18 crore.
Airtel bids 43 thousand crores
Airtel has tied up with Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung to provide 5G service. It was recently told by the company that 5G service will be started in August itself. Veteran telecom trader Sunil Bharti Mittal’s Bharti Airtel made a successful bid of Rs 43,039.63 crore for 5G spectrum.
What will be the cost of the plan?
No information was given from Vodafone Idea regarding the launch date of 5G service. But the company had made a big disclosure about the plans. The company had said that customers will have to pay a premium price for 5G service. The reason for this is that the company has spent a lot of money in the spectrum auction. The Telecom Department says that with the introduction of service based on 5G spectrum, the speed will be 10 times faster than 4G.
