A statement has been issued by the Railways saying that ‘Indian Railways is now working on a proposal to increase the scope of medical treatment of railway employees on a wider scale. For this, a committee has been formed whose job is to investigate all aspects related to ‘Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme’ for railway employees. Health insurance has been asked to focus on financial risk management during treatment, emergencies and treatment.
Explain that Indian Railways has 586 health units, 45 sub-division hospitals, 56 divisional hospitals, eight production unit hospitals and 16 zonal hospitals across the country. In which more than 2500 doctors are employed and more than 35,000 para medical staff is working.
