7th Pay Commission: Dearness allowance is given to central employees twice in January and July. That is, dearness allowance is announced in two half-years.

7th Pay Commission: To deal with the rising inflation, there can be a big increase in the dearness allowance of central employees and in the coming days a big gift can be given to the central employees.

In fact, it is almost certain from the numbers of the AICPI index that came in March that dearness allowance may increase by 4 percent in July-August. In view of the rising inflation, it is expected that there will be an increase in DA and DA will cross 38 percent.

There was a slight decline in the AICPI index in January and February 2022, but there was a jump in it in March and after which the way for increase in dearness allowance is almost clear.

The index has jumped in March 2022 and the next dearness allowance is expected to increase by 4 per cent. However, it may increase further in April-May and June, that is, an increase of more than 4 percent in DA cannot be ruled out.

What is AICPI Index

The All India Consumer Price Index calculates the allowances of employees in comparison to inflation, the Ministry of Labor collects these figures and then issues numbers, on the basis of which the DA is increased.

Why is DA dearness allowance given to employees,

central and state government employees get to improve their cost of living level. Even after the increase in inflation, there is no difference in the standard of living of the employees, so this allowance is given. Dearness allowance is given to government employees and public sector employees and dearness relief to pensioners.
